NicCheck I Test (formerly from DynaGen Inc) Used By STICKK.COM For Smoking Cessation Commitments, By Confirming Individuals Smoking Status

STICKK.COM, A New Website Helping With Smoking Cessation Uses NicCheck I to confirm smoking status.
Friday, March 3, 2008 Mossman Associates, Inc. announced today that they have joined with STICKK.COM to assist in a smoking cessation project. The website launched in just recently promotes healthier, happier living, by helping individuals and groups make and fulfill commitments to improve their lives. StickK.com does this by providing an easy mechanism for individuals to post financial commitments to achieve goals such as lose weight, stop smoking, look for love, train for a marathon, go green, etc.
Research by members of the stickK.com scientific advisory board, and others, shows that financial contracts like this can make individuals up to three times more likely to achieve goals such as smoking cessation and weight loss.
Donald Mossman, President of Mossman Associates is quoted as saying "We are pleased to be involved with this project and continue to be involved with smoking cessation projects around the world. Our test, NicCheck I, can be used to enable doctors or the smoker themselves to better determine the amount of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) they require. NicCheck can be used as a positive reinforcement tool during this difficult process by being a visual aid to the person showing the reduction in nicotine circulating in their bodies as they quit. This test, which was originally developed at DynaGen Inc, Cambridge Massachusetts, has been used since the mid 1990’s for such purposes. We feel strongly that the addition of NicCheck to the tools currently available will be an aid in the successful completion of a person’s smoking cessation efforts".

Innovations for Poverty Action, Teams with The Green Bank of Caraga, Using NicCheckTM to Confirm Smoking Cessation

Milford, Massachusetts; 10/15/07 - Mossman Associates Inc. is pleased to announce that our NicCheckTM is being used by Innovations for Poverty Action and The Green Bank of Caraga within their CARES Campaign.
CARES, (Committed Action to Reduce and End Smoking), offered by The Green Bank of Caraga, aims at supporting smokers to quit smoking. Despite the widely known negative effects of smoking on health, smoking continues to be prevalent in many Filipino families in the absence of organized smoking cessation programs.
The CARES product allows smokers to commit to quitting within the next six months, and provides smokers with financial incentives to follow through on that commitment. Once a client opens a CARES savings account and commits to quit smoking in six months, the client will not have the access to the savings account unless he/she passes the nicotine test at the end of the six months period. The Green Bank provides deposit collection services on weekly basis, constantly reminding and encouraging the client to reduce smoking and eventually quit.
Ann Mayuga from the Innovations for Poverty Action is quoted as saying, “ Clients are encouraged to stop smoking within 6 months with the incentives provided by the CARES product. We use NicCheck to confirm that participants have truly quit smoking during this period. The NicCheck test is affordable and easy to use. We are able to reduce the hassle for the clients by having the CARES staff visit each client and conduct the test in the field.”
Donald Mossman, President of Mossman Associates Inc. notes, "We are proud to be able to contribute to a program designed to help those people trying to quit smoking. Our NicCheck product can effectively be used to monitor a person’s nicotine consumption as they reduce their dependence, as well as, to verify total cessation. The test is simple and as you can see because it is a rapid visual test it is conducive to being run in the field, lending itself to visiting nurses, spot checks and remote health stations”.

Dutch Cancer Society Using NicCheck to Confirm Smoking Cessation
Milford, Massachusetts; 6/8/05 - Mossman Associates Inc. is pleased to announce that their NicCheck is being used by The Dutch Cancer Society for their annual Quit and Win Campaign.
Quit &Win is a practical, cost-effective evidence-based smoking cessation method for population-wide public health use. The International Quit &Win Campaign, originally organized in the framework of the WHO/CINDI program, is now an international network supported by the WHO and organized by The National Public Health Institute, KTL, Helsinki Finland. Quit &Win has proven to have the capability to reach more smokers and at a lower cost than most smoking cessation interventions. It has also proven to be applicable to different cultures. The success of the Quit &Win campaigns are assessed by standardized evaluation procedures, and follow-up studies have shown that after one year, on an average 20 % of the participants have remained tobacco free.
This stop-smoking-contest is conducted worldwide every two years by The National Public Health Institute, KTL, Helsinki Finland, however in the Netherlands there will be a contest every year organized under the same rules and conditions as the parent contest and overseen by The Dutch Cancer Society.
Ingrid van den Berg from the Dutch Cancer Society is quoted as saying,
"The Dutch Cancer Society is annually organizing a Quit &Win campaign. In May 2005, 3.695 smokers quit smoking in the Netherlands. Participants could win €1.000, if they quit smoking for at least a month. In order to check if the potential winners truly quit smoking during this period, we used NicCheck to confirm if they indeed were smoke free after a month"
"We are proud to be able to contribute to a program designed to help those people trying to quit smoking, to ultimately succeed. Our NicCheck product can effectively be used to monitor a person’s nicotine consumption as they reduce their dependence, as well as, to verify total cessation", notes Donald Mossman, President of Mossman Associates Inc.
