Banyan Treatment Centers Adding BioSound To Newest Location

 Banyan Treatment Center is opening of a new facility in Gulf Breeze, FL. Banyan Gulf Breeze, opening February 19th, will provide comprehensive care for adults dealing with Substance Use Disorders at both inpatient and outpatient levels. The facility will also offer outpatient services for Mental Health Disorders.

NicCheck Again To Be Used In The 2024 "Quit To Win Challenge"

The 2024 "Quit to Win Challenge" in Quebec is coming up and registrations have begun for this year.  The Challenge is now in its 25^th season.  The Challenge is a province-wide campaign that takes place each year to help smokers, who are ready to quit smoking, to take action.

The Challenge is a commitment, to not smoke for 6 weeks. Succeeding with the Challenge provides a solid foundation for the smoking cessation process. Also, 6 weeks without smoking also means 6 times the chances of quitting for good!

 

In 2023 the winner of the challenge received a $5,000.00 cash prize.

In order to win, the finalists (after abstaining from smoking for 6 weeks) was tested with NicCheck I, Nicotine Test Strips, as winners in the previous years were.  Upon proof of a negative test the winner was chosen.

We at Mossman Associates are very proud that our NicCheck I Nicotine Test Strips are repeatedly chosen as the confirmation test when looking to determine a winner in this challenge.

 

 

Quebec has substantially reduced the number of smokers over the years, but it still stands at 13.2% while Canada stands at 11.6% (2022 Statistics Canada). The 6-week challenge for 2024 runs from February 5^th to March 17^th.  The grand Prize winners will be selected after March 19th once the NicCheck I confirmation test has been given and a negative result has been achieved.

As we have done in past years, we are pleased to confirm that for the 2022 edition of the “Quit to Win Challenge!”, Capsana has once again used the “NICCHECK” strips to test our grand prize winners.

The 2022 “Quit to Win Challenge!” marks the 22nd edition of the yearly campaign to reduce smoking in the province of Quebec.  The smoking rate in Quebec now stands at 15% (2020 Statistics Canada) compared to 17% in 2019.  The campaign challenges participants to stop smoking for a 6-week period.  Registration is online and there are numerous tools offered to help participants reach their goal such as emails of encouragement, a Facebook page, and a dedicated website that provides information on the benefits of quitting, how to prepare, a countdown calendar, etc.  Studies have shown that quitting for 6 weeks provides a person 6 times the chances of quitting for good.  The 2022 campaign ran from February 7^th to March 20^th.  Our statistics have shown that 3 of 4 people who participate in the challenge succeed in stopping for the 6-week period.

National Rehabilitation Awareness Week.

 

The third full week in September every year is recognizes as National Rehabilitation Awareness Week. This year, National Rehabilitation Awareness Week is September 20-26, 2021.

 

At this time we at Mossman Associates and BioSound Technologies would like to acknowledge the benefits that can arise from rehabilitation programs. Also, we would like to recognize the dedicated individuals who provide rehabilitation services to people in need. We would especially like to mention those people in the drug addiction rehabilitation field and the different techniques now being used in the recovery process, which are instrumental in turning the tide of this national disaster.

Every person deserves to live his/her life to the fullest and rehabilitation can benefit a person physically, mentally, and spiritually, regardless of age.  This year, the focus is on raising awareness of the

 #powerofmedicalrehab. The intent is to educate people about the benefits and impact of rehabilitation, to increase opportunities for Americans with disabilities and to disseminate useful resources.

September Is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

 

People have become increasingly comfortable talking about their mental health, particularly this past year. The topic of suicide – when it comes up – is still scary for many people to think about and each year more than 48,000 Americans die by suicide. 

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness on this subject, which all too often still comes with a stigma. .

May-Mental Health Month 2021

As we know millions of Americans live with mental illness. We continue each year to fight the stigma associated with the disease, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies to support these people and their families.  May is the month that has been designated to be the time for the national movement to raise awareness about mental health each year.

In 2021, the theme continues to be “Tools 2 Thrive”.  The goal is providing practical tools that everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase their resiliency regardless of their personal situation. The Biosound Experience

A thoroughly profound experience, a session in the BioSound Bed is designed to induce a relaxation response and then deliver positive and powerful messages relating to the recovery process. The system consists of a vibrational platform that is constructed with memory foam and special transducers that initiate resonant sound vibrations.  An audio/ visual system and biofeedback function are also incorporated as part of the program session. The client will lie on the foam mattress and wear stereo headphones. The vibrations will be adjusted to their comfort level. A pulse sensor will be attached to their finger in order to measure HRV (heart rate variability). The client will participate in a short biofeedback session in order to learn techniques that will help them make an emotional shift to a more coherent “state of ease” when certain triggers and stressors arise. Then the client will put on blackout glasses and listen to soothing music that is choreographed to the resonant vibrations of the mattress. Most people will attain theta level meditation in about 12 minutes. Then the messaging is delivered via audio affirmations and inspirational videos. Research has shown that affirmations will embed into the subconscious far more effectively when the subject is in this brainwave meditative state. When the session is complete most people feel a sense of well-being and are re-energized for the rest of the day. They also report a deeper sleep that night. A typical session will be about 45 minutes in duration.

Quit and Win Contests During COVID-19

Milford, Massachusetts 7/23/20- NicCheck has again been chosen to be the confirmation test to determine the winner of the ‘’Quit And Win Contest’’.

COVID-19 has impacted the world in so many ways. Our health system is overwhelmed, people are out of work and stress has been put on so many systems we have come to take for granted.  Things have drastically changed and we wait to see what the final “New Normal” will look like.

The “Quit and Win” Contests were no exception to the disruption. NicCheck tests were made available to contest organizers as usual to be used to determine winners.  Taiwan was the only contest to be able to complete the contest with the usual NicCheck confirmation testing

Taiwan, within the Tobacco Control Division, John Tung Foundation, changed the theme of the Campaign to “Quit Smoking to Increase Immunity”, to aid in the fight against Covid-19.  Since the disease affected the respiratory system and smokers were more susceptible this change was brilliant. While the number of participants was almost 50% less than the previous campaigns many people quit smoking because they wanted to reduce their susceptibility and because they could safely quit smoking at home during quarantine.

Milford, Massachusetts, 7/29/19-Mossman Associates Incorporated is pleased to announce that we are working along our Law Enforcement contacts to bring to these people the benefits associated with BioSound ^(R)  Healing Therapy.

It has been acknowledged nationally that the fine people making up our First Responders are under a great deal of stress and anxiety, often leading to depression, body aches, muscle tension, headaches, and sleep deprivation. All of this leading to elevated rates of depression, substance abuse and suicide.  We are committed to providing solutions to help these people manage and cope with these on-the-job stresses.

We recently place 2 units with the Fayetteville Police in North Carolina. One at the police station and one at their training center.  Funds were obtained at least in part from a grant from the Department Of Justice, who recognize the importance of such therapies.

NicCheck Being Used Again In The Quit To Win Challenge

The 2018 campaign is in its 19^th year and the number of individuals registered for the 2018 Challenge was 14,155.  Since the year 2000, more than 436,000 individuals have registered for the Challenge.

There are still 18.4% of Quebecers who smoke which represents close to 1.3 million people*.  Of those smokers, 60% want to stop.  Our statistics show that 2 out of 3 smokers succeed the 6-week Challenge.

BioSound Healing Technologies Have Arrived In New England

BioSound Healing Technologies have been launched in a number of addiction facilities in New England.
